Cambodia Anti-Corruption Unit Trains Staff on AI for Public Service and Information Work

The Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of Cambodia has organized a training course on "Utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Enhance Public Service and Information Work." This initiative aims to boost the capabilities of its officials and address the rapid advancements in digital technology and AI. The training targets leaders and public officials within the ACU and its General Directorate of Administration and Security, focusing on strengthening their ability to use new technologies as effective, transparent, and accountable tools for their work. The opening ceremony, held on July 31, 2026, was presided over by H.E. Touch Sunnary, Vice-Chairman of the ACU, and H.E. Leang Soryrit, Secretary to the Minister of State and Chairman of the ACU. H.E. Touch Sunnary highlighted the importance of developing digital skills among officials to meet the demands of the digital era and improve institutional efficiency, under the guidance of H.E. Om Yinying, Minister of State and Chairman of the ACU. H.E. Touch Sunnary further stated that the training aligns with the "Pentagonal Strategy Phase I" of the Royal Government of Cambodia, led by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. This strategy prioritizes digital transformation and the development of human resources in technology, which are crucial for building a modern, efficient, accountable public administration and good governance. Subsequently, participants received guidance on the objectives and content of the course, as well as practical instructions on using digital tools like Google Accounts and Mozilla Firefox on computers and mobile phones. H.E. Leang Soryrit provided an overview of AI, focusing on understanding AI technology, prompt engineering, common pitfalls to avoid when using AI for information and dissemination work, and ethical principles for AI use. The training also included hands-on exercises with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity AI, Notta AI, and Gamma AI, enabling participants to apply their learning to practical tasks like document preparation, information research, meeting transcription, and creating dissemination content. Through this training, the ACU intends to continuously enhance the capabilities of its officials and promote the use of digital technologies as work support tools, guided by principles of efficiency, safety, ethics, and responsibility, thereby contributing to the development of modern and capable public institutions that can respond to the evolution of the digital society.
