Russian Citizens in Cambodia Participate in Russian Federal Assembly Elections

A total of 140 Russian citizens residing in or temporarily staying in Cambodia participated in the election for the 9th convocation of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia, according to a press release from the Russian Embassy in Cambodia. The election took place from September 18 to 20, 2026, with polling stations set up abroad to enable Russian citizens living outside Russia to exercise their constitutional right to vote. In Cambodia, polling station number 8152 was organized at the Russian Embassy in Phnom Penh. This station was open on September 20, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM local time. The Russian Embassy stated that this arrangement allowed Russian citizens living thousands of kilometers away from their homeland to exercise their voting rights and participate in the political life of Russia. The district election commission coordinated the necessary conditions to ensure the election was conducted in an orderly and convenient manner for voters, while Cambodian authorities provided appropriate cooperation to the commission in ensuring the security and safety of the election.
