Vietnam Weather August 1: Southern Regions See Reduced Rainfall, Northern Areas Brace for Heavy Downpours

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued its weather outlook for August 1 across Vietnam. Southern regions are expected to experience a decrease in thunderstorms and more sunshine during the day, while northern areas will continue to face heavy rainfall. In the northern regions, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An provinces are forecast to have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas potentially experiencing heavy downpours. Rainfall is anticipated to increase further in the coming days. The coastal areas from Ha Tinh to Da Nang city and eastern Quang Ngai province are likely to see only occasional rain showers. The Central Highlands and southern regions will be mostly cloudy with intermittent sunshine, and scattered thunderstorms are expected in the late afternoon and evening. Other areas will be sunny during the day, but thunderstorms may occur in the late afternoon and evening. During these thunderstorms, there is a possibility of hazardous weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind, requiring vigilance. At sea, the northern Gulf of Tonkin, the waters from Ca Mau to An Giang province, the Gulf of Thailand, and the northern East Sea (including the Paracel Islands) are expected to experience showers and thunderstorms. High chances of cyclones and strong winds (level 7-8), with sea waves exceeding 2 meters, are predicted in these sea areas. In Hanoi, the weather will be cloudy with showers and thunderstorms. The lowest temperature will be between 25-27°C, and the highest will be between 30-32°C. In the Northwest region, expect showers and thunderstorms, with some areas receiving heavy rain; temperatures will range from 21-26°C (low) to 30-33°C (high). The Northeast region will see showers, with potential heavy rain in some parts, with temperatures from 23-27°C (low) to 29-32°C (high). From Thanh Hoa to Hue, there will be showers, with potential heavy rain in some areas. Temperatures will range from 23-26°C (low) to 30-33°C (high). The South Central Coast will be mostly sunny, with temperatures from 24-27°C (low) to 31-34°C (high). The Central Highlands will experience occasional showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures from 20-23°C (low) to 28-31°C (high). Southern regions are forecast to have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, with temperatures from 23-26°C (low) to 30-33°C (high). Ho Chi Minh City will be mostly sunny, with temperatures from 25-27°C (low) to 31-33°C (high). This week, the country is expected to experience rain on many days, and caution is advised regarding natural disasters caused by continuous rainfall.
