Cambodia Expands 'CoolThink@JC' Teacher Training to Boost ICT Education
Cambodia's Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport is expanding its 'CoolThink@JC' (Computer Science Thinking) teacher training program, with experts from Hong Kong. This initiative aims to foster knowledge sharing and practical teaching methods among educators in 40 target primary schools, promoting the spread of digital education.
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in Cambodia is expanding its 'CoolThink@JC' (Computer Science Thinking) educational program, as part of its digital transformation efforts. Following intensive technical training from Hong Kong experts in early June, the 'CoolThink@JC' master trainers are now actively driving digital education transformation in Cambodia. Master trainers at 40 target primary schools have organized knowledge-sharing sessions for their colleague teachers within their schools. These sessions aim to disseminate new knowledge, experiences, and pedagogical methods acquired from the Hong Kong experts. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport's digital education strategy, intending to broaden teachers' instructional capacity comprehensively and ensure the sustainability of program implementation at the grassroots level. Through these continuous sharing activities, teachers at the target schools are gaining numerous benefits, including enhanced collective capacity by acquiring new methods for teaching students coding and systematic problem-solving; the exchange of practical experiences by fostering a professional learning community where teachers can discuss and find solutions to teaching challenges; and boosted confidence in using technology to transform classrooms into more dynamic learning environments.
