Banteay Meanchey Authorities Continue Food Aid for Displaced Persons, Emphasizing High Concern for Citizen Welfare

Banteay Meanchey provincial authorities continue to pay close attention to the well-being and living conditions of residents facing difficulties. On the afternoon of July 20, 2026, Mr. Khlok Nuy, Deputy Governor of Banteay Meanchey Province, on behalf of HE Um Rathry, Governor of the Provincial Administration, visited and distributed charitable food aid to displaced citizens from Banteay Meanrith and Samaki villages. These residents, with many family members, are currently temporarily residing in the former soldier's house in Rong Cham village, Slakram commune, Svay Chek district, Banteay Meanchey province. During the meeting, Mr. Khlok Nuy conveyed warm greetings and deep concern from HE Um Rathry, the provincial governor, and especially from the Prime Minister of Cambodia, who consistently remains mindful and never abandons any citizen during times of hardship. Mr. Khlok Nuy further elaborated that the well-being and livelihood of all displaced citizens are a top priority and the heart of the work for the provincial authorities, as well as the Royal Government. Despite the temporary living situation and difficult times, authorities at all levels will not allow residents to suffer from food shortages or hunger. While the current aid may not fully resolve long-term issues, it serves as a significant contribution to alleviating the daily living burdens of families with many members, helping them overcome this challenging period. He added that the Banteay Meanchey provincial authorities will continue to cooperate with the local authorities of Svay Chek district to monitor the living conditions, assess essential needs, and find further appropriate solutions for the displaced citizens in terms of health, safety, and livelihood. This aims to provide them with the motivation and hope to continue their lives. The displaced residents from Banteay Meanrith and Samaki villages expressed their deep emotion, joy, and sincere gratitude to HE Um Rathry, Mr. Khlok Nuy, and all provincial authority teams for their prompt assistance and service to the people on the ground, without regard for their own fatigue.
