Sway Rieng Province: On July 8, 2026, police forces from the Chantrea District Police Inspectorate arrested two Vietnamese nationals suspected of being involved in drug trafficking, distribution, transportation, possession, and illegal use of narcotics. The suspects have been sent to the provincial court for legal proceedings. The arrest of the two suspects was carried out in accordance with the strict orders of National Police Chief General Sar Thet and H.E. Peng Posa, Governor of Svay Rieng Provincial Hall, under the direct command of H.E. Major General Pich Virak, Provincial Police Commissioner of Svay Rieng, as part of efforts to combat drug offenses in the province. Chantrea District Police forces, led by H.E. Colonel Chin Sophoun, Inspector of Chantrea District Police, set up checkpoints to inspect weapons, explosives, and prevent and crack down on all types of crimes. During the operation, one vehicle was intercepted, and two male Vietnamese nationals were detained. One of them tested positive for drug use in a urine test.
