Kandal Authorities Study Sidewalk Improvements for Disabled and Public Green Spaces in Takhmao City

Kandal provincial authorities have commenced an inspection and study of key sidewalk locations along four major routes in Takhmao City, including National Road No. 2, Road No. 21, Road No. 107, and Road No. 206. The initiative aims to enhance public infrastructure, making it more convenient and aesthetically pleasing, thereby improving the city's public order and appearance. The on-site inspection took place on September 7, 2026, led by Mr. Nop Dara, Deputy Governor of Kandal Province, along with officials from Takhmao City and relevant experts, under the guidance of H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun, Governor of Kandal Provincial Administration. The improvement project will encompass the development of special sidewalks to facilitate safe travel for people with disabilities. It also includes the creation of exercise zones to provide public spaces for citizens to walk and exercise for their health, and the establishment of public gardens to increase greenery, enhance the city's beauty, and improve the environment. Mr. Nop Dara stated that these activities are a response to the active cooperation of citizens in maintaining order. He emphasized that the project will not only facilitate travel but also significantly contribute to organizing public order and discipline in Takhmao City, aligning with the leadership strategy of the Cambodian government for the seventh legislature of the National Assembly.
