Vietnam is accelerating digital transformation in its construction and real estate sectors to overcome market liquidity risks and technology adoption challenges. The government is establishing a unified digital management space linking central and local authorities, clearly defining responsible agencies, implementation deadlines, expected outputs, progress updates, delay warnings, and accountability for each assigned task. As Vietnam continues to strengthen its position as a leading growth hub in the Asia-Pacific region, the adoption of integrated management solutions and operational standardization will play an increasingly important role in improving the adaptability and global competitiveness of the country’s real estate market. NSO Director Nguyen Thi Huong noted that alongside foreign investment and the green economy, science-technology, innovation, the digital economy, and digital transformation are new drivers that can significantly boost economic growth in the second half of the year. A recent meeting of the Central Steering Committee on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, chaired by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, marked a new phase in implementing Resolution 57 following the committee’s restructuring. In some provinces, such as Hung Yen, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Hoang Son announced that the province will pursue a people-centered smart city model driven by science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation to improve public services, urban management, and competitiveness. Vietnam is also strengthening its investment in science and technology. In the semiconductor industry, the ultimate goal is not simply to establish a presence, but to gradually master high-value, knowledge-intensive segments of the value chain and become a key link in the global semiconductor supply chain. This would provide a launch pad for strengthening the country's competitiveness in artificial intelligence, electronics, and the digital economy. Furthermore, Vietnam is a global leader in 5G infrastructure deployment, with over 40,000 base transceiver stations (BTSs) providing coverage for about 92% of the population, a pace significantly faster than many advanced economies. By comparison, many advanced economies typically take two to three years to extend 5G coverage to more than 80% of their populations. Since July 2025, immigration authorities have processed 84,831 e-Visa applications, with Republic of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese nationals accounting for the largest numbers. The country's digital transformation is also impacting daily life, making it more convenient to register residence, apply for e-Visas, obtain electronic identity accounts, and complete administrative procedures online. These changes reflect the initial results of implementing Politburo Resolution No. 57. Source: VietnamPlus English
