Three Chinese Nationals Arrested in Bavet City, Over 2kg of Drugs Seized
Three Chinese nationals have been arrested in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia, on suspicion of illegal drug trafficking, possession, manufacturing, and use, with over 2.6 kilograms of narcotics seized. Three Chinese nationals have been arrested in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia, in connection with the illegal trafficking, possession, manufacturing, and use of narcotics, with over 2 kilograms of drugs seized. The operation also uncovered cases of illegal firearm possession. This operation was conducted under the direct command of General Sok Thet, Commissioner General of National Police; Mr. Peng Pousa, Governor of Svay Rieng Province; and Major General Pich Virak, Director of Svay Rieng Provincial Police, with the coordination of Mr. Kham Sophary, Prosecutor of the Provincial Court. According to the Svay Rieng Provincial Police, on July 8, 2026, Brigadier General Keo Sotha, Deputy Director in charge of anti-drug affairs, and Colonel Kan Ken led the provincial anti-drug office forces, in collaboration with the police forces of Bavet City Police Inspectorate, led by Major General Sam Samol, Bavet City Police Inspector. They cracked down on the case of illegal drug trafficking, possession, manufacturing, use, and illegal firearm possession, arresting three suspects, all male and Chinese nationals, in Bavet Leu village, Bavet commune, Bavet city. During the operation, authorities seized numerous exhibits, including a total of 2 kilograms 666.98 grams of narcotics, two scales, one pistol, one knife, three mobile phones, two tablets, and some other related paraphernalia.
