Cambodia Hosts Digitalization Workshop for MSMEs to Boost Funding and Business Growth

On September 18, 2026, the Federation of Associations for Small and Medium Enterprises of Cambodia (FASMEC) organized a workshop themed "Preparing for Financing to Develop Businesses for the Digital MSME Sector" in Kampot province. The event was presided over by His Excellency Muong Kongka, Deputy Governor of Kampot Provincial Administration, and led by Oknha Te Tangpor, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FASMEC. The workshop aims to strengthen the capacity of Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to better understand the procedures for obtaining loans and financing from partner banks, as well as to utilize digital systems for business expansion and development. Concurrently, the program intends to provide practical knowledge to business owners in preparing for domestic and export markets, and to increase awareness of relevant regulations and laws. Furthermore, it seeks to gather practical challenges faced by businesses to find solutions and support from state and private institutions. Oknha Te Tangpor emphasized the crucial need for MSMEs to acquire new knowledge and financial resources to drive business growth and contribute to national economic development. He also expressed gratitude to the Kampot Provincial Administration, representatives from the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, as well as relevant institutions and supporting partners for their contributions to the event's success. Supporting partners included the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB), SME Bank, Canadia Bank, ACLEDA Bank Plc., ANT FEED Co., SCE CONSTRUCTION Co., Ung Muykieng Jewelry, Khmer Milk Food Co., KH Haitech-Haier Global Business Co., Vattanac Brewery, and Hitech Co. Approximately 150 representatives from relevant ministries and institutions, financial institutions, and business owners attended the workshop to share knowledge and experiences, and to explore financing opportunities for business development.
