Brothers Drown in Pampanga Floodwaters After Truck Falls Into Bypass Road
A truck driver and his helper brother drowned in Pampanga after their vehicle fell into a flooded section of the Balucuc Bypass Road in Apalit on Friday. Search and rescue teams recovered their bodies.
A truck driver and his helper brother drowned after their truck fell into a flooded portion of Balucuc Bypass Road in Apalit, Pampanga, on Friday, Sept. 4. At around 1 p.m., the Apalit Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) advised the public that a search operation would be conducted along the bypass road, which was surrounded by deep floodwaters. READ: OCD: 330 barangays in Pampanga still flooded The brothers were reportedly on their way to San Simon town when their truck tilted and fell into the flooded side of the road. Shortly before 4 p.m., the Apalit MDRRMO said in a social media post that the bodies of the victims had been retrieved from the water by a search and rescue team composed of police and Coast Guard personnel. /cb
