Brothers Drown in Pampanga Floodwaters After Truck Falls Into Bypass Road

A truck driver and his helper brother drowned after their truck fell into a flooded portion of Balucuc Bypass Road in Apalit, Pampanga, on Friday, Sept. 4. At around 1 p.m., the Apalit Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) advised the public that a search operation would be conducted along the bypass road, which was surrounded by deep floodwaters. Shortly before 4 p.m., the Apalit MDRRMO said in a social media post that the bodies of the victims had been retrieved from the water by a search and rescue team composed of police and Coast Guard personnel. /cb
