Vietnam Emphasizes Close Coordination of Diplomacy, Defense, and Public Security

Within the framework of the 33rd Diplomatic Conference, Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense, and Ministry of Public Security jointly organized a session themed "Promoting the Pioneering Role and Executing the Important, Regular Tasks of Vietnamese Diplomacy in the New Era." This meeting underscored the critical importance of close coordination among diplomacy, defense, and public security in Vietnam's national construction and defense. The Communist Party of Vietnam recognizes that efficient and collaborative efforts in these sectors are indispensable for achieving its top priority: balancing national security with economic development. Especially in light of increasingly complex international situations and regional security challenges, Vietnam is strengthening the system where defense and public security sectors powerfully support the execution of foreign policy. This aims to protect national sovereignty and security through deepened cooperation in areas such as border management, counter-terrorism, and cybersecurity. Furthermore, enhancing the quality of local diplomacy to contribute to the nation's overall development was also emphasized. This is seen as part of Vietnam's strategy to maximize the potential of its regions to sustain economic growth and elevate its international standing. Under Vietnam's one-party system, maintaining national security and social order is a top priority, with foreign policy positioned as a crucial tool for its achievement. In its relations with China, Vietnam consistently demonstrates an approach aimed at maintaining peaceful and stable relations while safeguarding its sovereignty and national interests. The recent joint session of the three ministries can be interpreted as a move to concretize these Vietnamese foreign and security strategies.
