New High School Construction Begins in Central Vietnam, Attended by National Leaders - Aiming for Educational Reform at a Traditional School

On August 7, in Van An commune, Nghe An province, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Nam Dan 1 High School was held. This school is one of the educational institutions with a long historical tradition in Nghe An province. Attending the ceremony was Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Secretary of the Central Party Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, who delivered a directive speech. Also present were Mr. Phan Dinh Trac, former Member of the Politburo, former Secretary of the Central Party Committee, former Head of the Central Internal Affairs Department; Mr. Dang Van Dung, Member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Department; and Mr. Nguyen Khac Thuan, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee. The new school, with a total investment of nearly 300 billion VND (approximately 13 million USD), will be built on an area of over 5 hectares. The modern design will meet the standards of a high-quality education model, laying a solid foundation for Nam Dan 1 High School to become a leading model school in Nghe An province. The school will accommodate 48 classrooms, with modern teaching blocks, laboratories, an administrative building, a multi-purpose hall, a library, and sports grounds. In her speech, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra affirmed that the construction of Nam Dan 1 High School aims to create a spacious and modern facility, fostering a high-quality educational environment. This will further enhance the school's role and position as a traditional institution in the beloved homeland of President Ho Chi Minh. To ensure the project is implemented on target with quality and long-term effectiveness, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments, and investors to focus leadership and direction, organize project execution to ensure progress, quality, and absolute safety during construction. She also urged for strict, open, transparent, and efficient management and use of investment resources from the state budget and socialized funds. Difficulties and obstacles arising during construction should be promptly resolved to ensure the project's progress and quality. The goal is to have a new school ready for the 2027-2028 academic year, meeting the expectations of the teachers, staff, students, and parents. Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra also requested the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province to continue effectively implementing the fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training, improve educational quality, develop a teaching and management staff that meets the demands of the new development phase, and focus on nurturing talent. On behalf of the provincial leadership, Mr. Vo Trong Hai, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister and central ministries and agencies for their continuous attention, companionship, and support. He also acknowledged and thanked the sponsors for their contributions to the construction of the project, calling it a meaningful gift for the homeland of Uncle Ho and for future generations, demonstrating social responsibility, affection for the homeland, and faith in the youth. To complete the project before August 30, 2027, the leadership of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee requested the Party committees and governments of Van An commune and related units to urgently complete land clearance and their respective tasks, resolving procedures promptly to create the most favorable conditions for the project to be implemented continuously and synchronously. At the groundbreaking ceremony, leaders from the Party, State, Nghe An province, and sponsors presented meaningful gifts to 100 students of Nam Dan 1 High School who are facing difficult circumstances but are diligent and academically successful.
