Leapmotor Commences Local EV Assembly in Indonesia with B10 and C10 Models

Leapmotor has officially begun the local assembly of electric vehicles (EVs) in Indonesia, marking a new chapter for the Chinese automaker in the Southeast Asian market. The B10 and C10 models are the first to undergo local production at PT National Assemblers Plant 3 in Purwakarta, West Java. The assembly process adheres to global manufacturing standards set by Leapmotor and Stellantis, ensuring that every vehicle produced meets consistent quality, safety, and reliability benchmarks. This move is a significant step for Leapmotor in bringing EVs closer to the needs of Indonesian consumers. "Indonesia is a market with very large potential for electric vehicle growth in the Southeast Asian region. The start of local assembly is an important step for Leapmotor to bring our products closer to Indonesian consumers, while supporting business growth and strengthening the presence of the Leapmotor brand in the ASEAN region," said Isaac Yeo, Managing Director of Stellantis ASEAN. He added, "Together with Indomobil, we are proud to start this new chapter through the local assembly of Leapmotor C10 and B10. This strategic collaboration will accelerate our electrification roadmap in the region, while placing Indonesia as one of the important bases in driving the development of electric vehicles in Southeast Asia." The facility, spanning 158,000 square meters, is equipped with modern production technology and automation systems. Initially, it has a production capacity of up to 10,000 units per year, with plans to scale up to 34,000 units annually as market demand grows. The facility is designed for flexibility, with potential for expansion in its body shop and paint shop facilities. Beyond manufacturing, the Indomobil Group is strengthening the ownership ecosystem. This includes expanding the dealer network in strategic cities, ensuring the availability of original spare parts, and providing after-sales services and technical support to build consumer confidence. This comprehensive approach is crucial for the adoption of EVs. "The start of local assembly is an important milestone in Leapmotor's journey in Indonesia.
