Pro-military lobbyist Kyaw Myo Min detained by military, pro-military groups including extremist MaBaTha monk demand release after interrogation only
Yangon, June 28 Pro-military lobbyist Kyaw Myo Min, who had an exchange of words with USDP's Boo Lay Hla Swe on social media, is being detained by the military, and pro-military circles, including an extremist MaBaTha monk, are demanding through Telegram channels that he be released after being interrogated. Kyaw Myo Min has been out of contact since June 23, and as of today, June 28, he has not been able to film commentary videos on his NP News Telegram social media pages. The so-called extremist MaBaTha monk, who is a disguised monk, stated that Kyaw Myo Min is either being detained or is being interrogated by the relevant authorities. "I don't know what issue Ko Kyaw Myo Min got involved in that led to him being interrogated. I assess that it will only be at the stage of interrogation. Yesterday, I contacted and asked a devotee close to him, and she said she hadn't heard any news from the office. Therefore, it is more likely to be at the stage of interrogation rather than detention," he said. Kyaw Myo Min recently questioned on social media, "What are the MPs doing? " regarding the issue of China extending its fence on the Myanmar side of the Muse border, to which USDP's Boo Lay Hla Swe responded by criticizing him as a "journalist who doesn't go north or south" and strongly retaliated, saying he would take action for insulting the MPs. Boo Lay Hla Swe stated that if they want to criticize MPs, journalists like pro-military lobbyist Kyaw Myo Min and Kyaw Soe Oo should try to get into parliament. Pro-military lobbyist Shwe Myo Win also criticized the military's detention of Kyaw Myo Min as a wrongful act, stating that many people support Kyaw Myo Min's news presentations, and that the military's detention and punishment of its own supporters could lead to a loss of supporters, thus demanding Kyaw Myo Min's release on social media. "The government has made a big mistake by arresting Ko Kyaw Myo Min. His news presentations are supported by many people. It is not good to nip it in the bud like this. Now, even our own people are being arrested. After Ko Kyaw Myo Min, Zaw Phone Hein, and Min Oo Soe, there may be more. If this continues, even our own people will go to the other side," wrote and criticized pro-military lobbyist Shwe Myo Win. As of now, the military has not officially released any information regarding Kyaw Myo Min's detention. NP News, owned by Kyaw Myo Min, has announced that Kyaw Myo Min has not been able to post news videos from June 23 to June 27 and requested cooperation by not asking questions related to him. "We kindly request your cooperation by patiently waiting for the day when video content will be re-uploaded, as Ko Kyaw Myo Min (aka Ko Kyaw Nu) has not yet been able to upload video content today, June 27. We respectfully inform you that you can help by not asking any unnecessary questions," it was announced late last night. The terrorist military frequently summons and interrogates pro-military lobbyists, including Kyaw Myo Min, Kyaw Soe Oo, and the disguised extremist MaBaTha monk, whenever they make strong criticisms against the military, and often releases them after a few days.
