Northern Vietnam Declares State of Emergency Amidst Severe Rainfall and Flooding

Record rainfall has battered Vietnam's northern mountainous region, escalating flood and landslide risks across several provinces. In Lai Chau province, Muong Than commune has declared a state of emergency following the severe weather, which has resulted in one death and four missing individuals. The Prime Minister has instructed ministries, sectors, and local authorities to strictly implement directives issued by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, as well as the Government's guidelines on strengthening disaster prevention and response for 2026.
