Khun Sreng, a member of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and Chairman of the CPP Committee of Phnom Penh, has urged local party members in the Chamkarmon district to build clear trust with the people in their respective areas to ensure a 100% success in the upcoming elections. The directive was made during a meeting with members of the party from four communes in Chamkarmon district – Veal Sbov, Prek Eng, Kbal Koh, and Prek Thmei – on the afternoon of September 9, 2026. Khun Sreng emphasized the need for village, commune, and district level party members to work in unison to build citizen confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet and to support the CPP in the upcoming elections. He also highlighted the long-term goal of maintaining national leadership to achieve Cambodia's vision of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050. Furthermore, he instructed party members to disseminate the party's historical achievements, including its role in national salvation, national reunification, combating COVID-19, and developing the country under the leadership of HE Hun Sen. Regarding the crackdown on crimes through technological means, Khun Sreng advised local authorities to monitor and eliminate online scams from the capital city of Phnom Penh.
