Vietnam's Mid-Autumn Festival and Cultural Events Celebrated Abroad

Vietnam is actively promoting the preservation of its traditions and fostering international exchange through cultural events held abroad. Notably, the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations in Nice, France, marked one of the largest events of its kind outside Vietnam, strengthening the bonds within the local Vietnamese community and serving as a significant platform for sharing Vietnamese culture. Similar events have taken place in Japan and Singapore, providing overseas Vietnamese with opportunities to uphold their traditions, nurture intergenerational connections, and share their culture with local and international communities. These initiatives align with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's introduction of a Code of Conduct for Cultural Behaviour in the Digital Environment, aiming to guide responsible online actions and promote positive values in the digital space. In the realm of sports, Vietnamese athletes have achieved notable success. At the Asian Games (ASIAD), medals were secured in wushu and swimming, reflecting the progress in youth development programs. Furthermore, the Ao Dai Fashion Week in London showcased Vietnam's traditional attire, an effort to position the national dress within the international fashion industry's language and professional standards by highlighting design, fabrics, craftsmanship, and creative interpretations. The designation of Vietnam Culture Day (November 24) also aims to provide the public with opportunities to participate in, create and enjoy cultural activities, thereby spreading positive values and fostering pride in Vietnamese culture. These efforts, within the framework of Vietnam's one-party system, are seen as contributing to the enhancement of its soft power and national cohesion both domestically and internationally.
