President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. wants to see the anti-political dynasty bill enacted during his term, Malacañang announced on Thursday. This directive comes after the Supreme Court (SC) urged Congress to pass the measure, which has been pending for 39 years, despite the 1987 Constitution mandating its enactment. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro stated that while the Supreme Court has not issued a specific decision, the anti-political dynasty bill is a priority for the President, who is keen on expediting its passage. Castro confirmed that Marcos Jr. agrees with the SC's sentiment that it is time to legislate against political dynasties. Castro acknowledged that Congress will determine the timeline for the bill's passage, noting that lawmakers are also attending to other pertinent legislative work.
