Kratie Province Focuses on Infrastructure and Resident Support with Bridge Construction and Aid Distribution

Yin Vanna, the governor of Chit Borei district in Kratie province, led a working group to inspect two bridge locations and distribute essential food supplies to over 50 impoverished families in Thma Andek commune, Chit Borei district, Kratie province, on September 18, 2026. According to the district governor, residents in Thma Andek commune are receiving three major benefits this year. Firstly, the asphalt road connecting National Road 7A to the commune has been completed, significantly easing travel for the residents. Secondly, a concrete bridge crossing Prek The, which previously relied on a suspension bridge, will be provided by the government through the Ministry of Rural Development. Construction of this bridge is slated to begin in October and is expected to take two years, facilitating easier transportation of agricultural products for the residents. Thirdly, a reservoir for water storage will be constructed to support the irrigation needs for rice and other crops grown by the local population. The governor stated that these achievements are the result of the efforts under the leadership of the government, led by the Cambodian People's Party, which consistently prioritizes the well-being of citizens in every locality. He contrasted this with some political parties that make empty promises during election seasons without offering genuine participation or assistance to the people. The governor urged the residents to carefully observe the actions of the Cambodian People's Party and other political parties, and to weigh them to avoid being misled during election periods when some parties make loud, unfulfilled claims, while failing to appear or resolve issues for the people when they are most needed. In addition, the district governor, along with local commune authorities, inspected the current condition of a dilapidated wooden bridge that poses difficulties for travel.
