Khanom Gas Separation Plant Turns 30, Key to Southern Energy Security

The Khanom Gas Separation Plant, located in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province in southern Thailand, has reached its 30th anniversary. This plant has played a crucial role in stabilizing the energy supply in southern Thailand for many years. On this significant milestone, PTT, the state-owned oil and gas company, reiterated that the plant has formed the backbone of southern Thailand's energy infrastructure and contributed to regional economic development. PTT also indicated its continued commitment to strengthening Thailand's overall energy security and advancing the transition to sustainable energy through the operation of the Khanom Gas Separation Plant. The Khanom Gas Separation Plant is a facility that separates and refines natural gas into products such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ethane. It supplies essential fuels for southern Thailand's power generation and industrial activities. Its stable operation over three decades underscores the plant's importance in Thailand's energy policy. PTT stated that, marking this 30th anniversary, it will enhance technological innovation and efforts to reduce environmental impact, aiming for sustainable growth in Thailand's energy sector.
