Cambodia Ministry of Social Affairs Holds Women's Association Mid-Year Review
The Women's Association of the Ministry of Social Affairs held a meeting to review its work for the first half of 2026 and outline future plans. The success of an international women's leadership conference and women's contributions to social welfare were highlighted.
The Women's Association of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Kingdom of Cambodia, convened a meeting on July 13, 2026, at the Ministry's headquarters to review the work results of the first half of 2026 and outline future work directions. The meeting was presided over by Her Excellency Chea Phalkun Chea Sumethey, Honorary President of the Cambodia Women's Association for Peace and Development, Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation. Her Excellency Chea Phalkun Chea Sumethey stated that Cambodia successfully hosted the "39th World Conference of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and the 42nd Annual Meeting of the OB-PS Community." This event, led by Her Excellency Dr. Pich Chandymony Hun Manet, First Lady of Cambodia and Chief Commissioner of the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Association of Cambodia, brought together over 100 countries and received significant praise and acclaim from international friends. She highly commended and appreciated the efforts of all leaders and female officials, especially the Cambodia Women's Association for Peace and Development, Ministry of Social Affairs, for their active participation in humanitarian and social activities. Their contributions have enhanced social morality, the values of women and Khmer families, and promoted the development of the social affairs sector in Cambodia. These roles are crucial and indispensable, achieving commendable results under the visionary leadership and close attention of His Excellency Chea Sumethey, Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation. On this occasion, the Honorary President further encouraged all women to continue preserving peace and consistently upholding good deeds, morality, and the values of Khmer women. She urged the Women's Association and all female officials to continue working with high responsibility, maintaining strong internal solidarity and unity, and to help each other by sharing spirit, physical strength, emotional support, and material resources to the best of their abilities, aiming to build harmony and well-being both internally and externally.
