On July 27, 2024, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce decisions from the Party Central Secretariat. Major General To Anh Dung, Director of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term and nominated for election as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2026-2031 term. Comrade Nguyen Duy Ngoc, member of the Politburo and Head of the Central Organization Commission, acknowledged Thanh Hoa Province's remarkable achievements, including sustained economic growth, increased budget revenue, successful investment attraction, effective disbursement of public investment capital, ensured social security, improved material and spiritual life for the people, and maintained national defense and security. He highlighted Thanh Hoa's strategic importance due to its large population, vast area, and advantageous location in the North Central region and the country, emphasizing the high demands placed on the provincial leadership in this new development phase. Comrade Nguyen Duy Ngoc stated that the appointment of Major General To Anh Dung reflects a comprehensive assessment of his political qualities, capabilities, experience, and credibility. He urged the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, and relevant organizations to foster unity and cooperation to support Comrade To Anh Dung and the provincial leadership in fulfilling their duties. He also directed the province to focus on administrative reform, digital transformation, and enhancing governance capacity to maximize its potential and achieve economic and social development goals. Upon receiving his new assignment, Comrade To Anh Dung expressed his gratitude to the Politburo and the Central Committee for their trust. He pledged to continuously refine his political resolve and moral character, enhance leadership and management skills, and work with the Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee to maintain unity, leverage collective wisdom, and uphold the responsibility of leadership. As Vietnam continues its economic growth, placing capable individuals in crucial roles is essential for unlocking regional potential and achieving development targets. Furthermore, maintaining stable governance in strategically important regions is vital for national security, especially given Vietnam's complex relationship with China.
