LINAMON, LANAO DEL NORTE, Philippines — Three towns in Lanao del Norte experienced a power outage for more than five hours on Tuesday after a toppled mango tree affected a distribution line. The incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. during a heavy downpour and strong winds. Josefa Emeline Openiano, manager of Lanao del Norte Electric Cooperative branch office in Linamon town, said the huge mango tree that was toppled in Napo village cut the power line, inducing brownout in the towns of Matungao, Linamon, Poona Piagapo and parts of Kauswagan. Openiano said linemen were immediately deployed to fix the problem and restore power supply quickly. After over five hours of repair work, power was restored by around 8 p.m. /cb
