North Jakarta Extends Road Barrier on Yos Sudarso Street for Traffic Engineering

The North Jakarta Transportation Agency (Sudinhub) has extended road barriers or barriers on Yos Sudarso Street, specifically in front of the North Jakarta District Court, as part of traffic engineering measures. This initiative aims to prevent motorcycle riders from going against the traffic flow. "We have increased the number of road barriers from the Plumpang ramp exit to the Transjakarta Stop so that motorcycle riders do not go against the direction on the road," stated Wahyu Wijayanto, Head of the Sudinhub Road Traffic Section, Jakarta. Observations during the traffic engineering trial on Yos Sudarso Road, from the Tanjung Priok toll exit to the Plumpang roundabout, have shown that two-wheeled drivers are still attempting to turn against traffic at the end of the barrier. According to Wahyu, this behavior disrupts the smooth flow of traffic and poses a safety risk to other motorists, necessitating the extension of the barrier. The additional barriers were installed on Wednesday (2/9) evening, and their impact is currently being monitored. The traffic engineering trial was originally scheduled to conclude on Saturday (5/9). However, it will be maintained for the time being while awaiting evaluation and input from other relevant parties. "Meanwhile, it will be maintained while waiting for evaluation and input from the side ranks," Wahyu added. He urged all motorists to comply with traffic regulations to ensure smooth and safe traffic conditions. Previously, the North Jakarta Transportation Agency announced plans to implement traffic engineering trials on Yos Sudarso Street, focusing on the Plumpang Tanjung Priok toll exit area, in front of the North Jakarta District Attorney's Office, and at the U-turn from Plumpang towards Yos Sudarso and Kelapa Gading, as an effort to prevent traffic violations.
