Vietnam's Eximbank has appointed Pham Thi Huyen Trang as its new General Director, effective August 1. Trang, a former chairwoman of the bank, replaces Tran Tan Loc, who resigned yesterday for personal reasons. Born in 1982, Trang holds a Master's degree in Banking and Finance. Prior to joining Eximbank, she spent 12 years in various leadership positions at Vietbank and has experience working with major conglomerates such as Sun Group and Deo Ca. She previously served as Chairwoman of Eximbank from December 2025 to July 2026. Eximbank has seen significant leadership changes recently. At an extraordinary meeting on July 24, the General Meeting of Shareholders approved the resignations of three board members: Pham Tuan Anh, Nguyen Tri Trung, and Nguyen Trong Hien. Their replacements include Nguyen Le Quoc Anh, Chua Teck Huat Bill, Michael Richard Harte, Richa Goswami, and Ooi Huey Tyng. All new appointees possess over 30 years of experience in the finance and banking sector. Notably, Nguyen Le Quoc Anh has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors. He previously served as General Director of Techcombank and is currently the Managing Director of One Globe Consulting Group. In the first half of this year, Eximbank reported a pre-tax profit of VND 678.5 billion ($27.7 million), a decrease of more than half compared to the same period last year. Total assets at the end of the second quarter reached VND 266.067 trillion ($10.8 billion), with loans amounting to nearly VND 186.200 trillion ($7.6 billion).
