Vietnam, Lithuania Seek to Boost Ties During High-Level Visit

President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda and Spouse are paying an official visit to Vietnam on June 11 - 12 at the invitation of State President Luong Cuong. This is the first high-level visit by a Lithuanian head of state to Vietnam in many years, marking a highly significant diplomatic event that demonstrates the two countries’ appreciation of their traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation, opening a new chapter in bilateral relations. The two ministers highlighted promising prospects for cooperation in trade, investment, the digital economy, the green economy, renewable energy, culture, education and training. Welcoming President Nauseda's historic visit, General Secretary Lam affirmed that this trip is an important milestone, contributing to promoting the Vietnam - Lithuania bilateral relationship more strongly, practically and effectively in the coming time. Vietnam, under its one-party system, prioritizes stable economic growth and international integration. Strengthening ties with European nations is a key pillar of its foreign policy. The deepening of relations with Lithuania is part of Vietnam's strategy to enhance connections with geographically distant regions and diversify its economy.
