The Philippines has launched another commercial shipment of fresh Carabao mangoes to Canada, this time targeting Vancouver, as the government aims to solidify its recent entry into the Canadian market into a sustained export opportunity. In a statement on Monday, the Department of Agriculture (DA) announced that one metric ton (1,000 kilograms) of mangoes arrived at Vancouver International Airport. This shipment comes just weeks after the initial commercial acceptance of Philippine mangoes in the Canadian market. The DA stated that this latest shipment further demonstrates the potential for Philippine agricultural products, particularly Carabao mangoes, to be well-received by Canadian consumers. The department has been working closely with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to ensure market access. Philippine mangoes are globally recognized for their sweetness and distinct flavor. The Carabao mango, in particular, is one of the country's premier varieties and enjoys high demand in export markets.
