Cambodia and South Korea Deepen Cooperation in Economy and Investment

Cambodian Acting Head of State Hun Sen has stated that the Republic of Korea is a significant cooperation partner for Cambodia, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment sectors. Both countries are fostering a good collaboration within this crucial partnership. The remarks were made during a meeting with former Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Kim Jin-pyo, on the afternoon of September 21, 2026, at the Peace Palace. During the meeting, Hun Sen welcomed Kim Jin-pyo and expressed his pleasure at meeting him again in Cambodia. He considered the former Speaker's visit as a means to further nurture the relationship between Cambodia and Korea. Kim Jin-pyo, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the meeting and noted the current excellent state of relations between the two countries. He expressed hope that more Korean tourists would visit Cambodia and observed that Korean investors are showing continuous interest in investing in the Kingdom. Hun Sen expressed satisfaction with Kim Jin-pyo's statements and conveyed his hope for an even stronger and more prosperous relationship between the two nations. He also urged the former Speaker to encourage more Korean investors to invest in Cambodia.
