CPP's Ponhear Leu Commune Elects New Youth Leadership

The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) held an election on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the CPP Ponhear Leu Commune office to select the commune's youth party leadership. The election was presided over by Mr. Chu Vannak, Deputy Head of the CPP Working Group for Ponhear Leu District and Head of the CPP Working Group for Ponhear Leu Commune, and Mr. Thon Sovanna, Chairman of the CPP Ponhear Leu District Committee. A total of 200 people attended, including members of the central working group, district and commune election committee members, candidates, and voters. Of those present, 178 participated in the vote. The results showed 175 valid ballots out of 178 cast, with 3 invalid ballots. The vote count yielded the following results: 1. Mr. Ou Chanthy: Received 125 votes (71.42%), elected as Chairman. 2. Ms. Mai Sreynou: Received 123 votes (70.28%), elected as Vice-Chairwoman. 3. Mr. Yim Sokha: Received 106 votes (60.57%), elected as Secretary. 4. Ms. Thol Sreypich: Received 103 votes (58.85%), elected as Member. 5. Mr. Phuong Phirun: Received 97 votes (55.42%), elected as Member. Out of the five elected individuals, two are women (40%) and three are men (60%). This election is part of the CPP's ongoing efforts to strengthen its grassroots organization and foster the involvement of young members in party activities across the country. The newly elected youth leadership is expected to play a key role in mobilizing and engaging youth in Ponhear Leu commune.
