The 14th day of the second regular session of the Third Amyotha Hluttaw was held at 10:00 AM today, July 8, at the Amyotha Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw, with 205 out of the 209 eligible Amyotha Hluttaw representatives in attendance. According to the agenda, the session commenced with the question-and-answer period. A total of four questions were raised, including a query by U Maung Sein, Representative No. 3 for Taninthayi Region, on whether there is a plan to build an RC reinforced concrete bridge to replace a deteriorating inter-village bridge (measuring 25 feet long, 20 feet wide, and 10 feet high) located between Ohn Pin Kwin village tract and Thae Chaung village tract in the Kanbauk area of Yebyu Township, Dawei District, Taninthayi Region; a query by Dr. Naing Lin, Representative No. 9 for Kayah State, on whether there are plans to collaborate with international aid organizations to layout and implement strategic projects for the rehabilitation of Kayah State, and to work toward economic redevelopment; and a query by Daw Theingi Win Shwe, Representative No. 9 for Sagaing Region, on whether the Government has plans to provide food and living assistance to the people resettling in Htigyaing Township and Katha Township of Katha District, Sagaing Region. Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Major General Kyaw Swa Oo and Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Than Soe provided responses to the questions. Following this, Daw Nwe Nwe Oo, Representative No. 2 for Ayeyawady Region and Chairperson of the Bill Committee, read and explained the committee's report regarding the Anti-Online Scam Bill, which had been sent back with amendments by the Pyithu Hluttaw. Next, the Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw sought the decision of the Hluttaw to approve the Anti-Online Scam Bill as amended by the Amyotha Hluttaw Bill Committee. Subsequently, regarding the points of disagreement between the Amyotha Hluttaw and the Pyithu Hluttaw concerning the amended Anti-Online Scam Bill, U Myo Min Naung, Representative No. 5 for Kayin State, tabled a motion to discuss and decide on the matter at the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw. The Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw then announced the decision to submit the matter to the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw. Afterward, a motion tabled by Daw Soe Soe Myint, Representative No. 12 for Mon State urging the Union Government to implement effective measures concerning taxation and corruption to ensure systematic tax collection in building national development and to enable corruption-free operations when connecting the public with government departments was discussed by Daw Aye Chan Mon (Representative No. 6 for Mon State), DawMarlar San (Representative No. 2 for Shan State), Sai Win Khaing (Representative No. 10 for Shan State), and Daw Naw Florence Dany (Representative No. 10 for Kayah State).
