Vietnamese President Meets Vietnamese Experts and Scientists in Canada

Vietnamese President To Lam met with representatives of the Vietnamese Experts and Scientists Network in Canada (CVSEA) in Ottawa on the afternoon of September 25 (Hanoi time, September 26), local time. This meeting was part of the President's visit to Canada. According to official announcements, discussions likely centered on leveraging the expertise of Vietnamese professionals and scientists for Vietnam's development strategies and exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation between Vietnam and Canada. CVSEA is an organization comprising Vietnamese diaspora talent active in Canada, aiming to contribute to their homeland's development. Prior to this meeting, the President attended the Vietnam-Canada High-Level Business Forum and delivered a policy speech at the Canadian Parliament. He also held separate meetings with members of the Canada-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Group, as well as the Speakers of the Canadian Senate and House of Commons, signaling Vietnam's intent to strengthen relations across various sectors including politics, economy, and science and technology. Vietnam is intensifying efforts to utilize the networks of skilled individuals residing abroad for its national development strategies. The insights from overseas talent, particularly in science, technology, and specialized professional fields, are expected to play a crucial role in advancing Vietnam's industrialization and modernization goals. This meeting is seen as part of the Vietnamese government's broader strategy in this regard.
