President says efforts to improve railway carriage construction technology are needed

It is necessary to continuously learn from overseas railway carriage construction technology and further develop our country's railway carriage construction, said Head of State President Min Aung Hlaing. The Head of State made these remarks during his visit to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Myanma Railways, Diesel Locomotive Workshop (Mala Gon) on the morning of July 28. It is said that the country is striving to ensure sufficient electricity supply under the current circumstances, and is also supporting the domestic production, installation, and use of battery-powered railway carriages. The Head of State said that it is necessary to build railway overpasses at railway crossings with heavy traffic, and to prepare for the construction of a subway in Yangon city. It is said that it is necessary to consider and plan in advance the technological requirements that will be needed in the future for the construction of railways, the construction of railway carriages, and the construction of basic infrastructure facilities related to railway transportation. Furthermore, the Head of State said that it is necessary to plan in advance for the future operation of railway carriages using electricity. In addition, Head of State President Min Aung Hlaing said that it is necessary to continue efforts to expand, install, and manufacture DEMU railway carriages with our own designs domestically.
