Phnom Penh, September 1, 2026 (AKP) -- On the afternoon of September 1, 2026, H.E. Net Pheaktra, Minister of Information, led a meeting with spokespersons and information officials from various government ministries and institutions. The meeting was held with the aim of strengthening the effectiveness of information dissemination, information and public opinion management, and enhancing the efficiency of spokesperson work and communication between the government and the people to be more effective, timely, and consistent. Speaking at the meeting, H.E. the Minister emphasized that the main goal is to strengthen the "vitality of the single actor system" within the government framework for information and public opinion management. This work requires all relevant ministries, institutions, and units to increase cooperation and coordination to achieve common results in line with the government's direction and policies. H.E. Net Pheaktra also raised the importance of modernizing the information sector and integrating traditional and digital media to expand the capacity for producing and disseminating information in line with technological evolution. Concurrently, H.E. the Minister reiterated the recommendations of Samdech Borvothideth Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, regarding information management. He urged for continued promotion and enhancement of the production and dissemination of content about the policies, programs, activities, and achievements of the government in all sectors to be more active, comprehensive, timely, and effective. At the same time, attention must be paid to disseminating concrete achievements at the local level that directly benefit the citizens. H.E. the Minister also advised to increase the spirit of proactiveness, responsibility, and ownership in tracking, collecting, compiling, producing, and disseminating information, adhering to the spirit of "24 hours a day, 7 days a week" to ensure that accurate, clearly sourced, and timely information is disseminated rapidly. Furthermore, he stressed the need to fully utilize and strengthen the effectiveness of national media systems and digital platforms, especially Cambodian National Television, to play a more active role and become a key core in information dissemination. On this occasion, H.E. Net Pheaktra emphasized: "Information work in the digital age requires a change in perspective and working methods to align with actual needs, shifting from merely disseminating information to a systematic work process that includes listening, understanding, deciding, disseminating, receiving feedback, responding, measuring results, and continuous improvement. This will make information work more effective, respond in a timely manner, and become closer to the needs and interests of the public."
