Cambodia Completes Irrigation Projects in Takeo and Koh Kong Provinces

H.E. Sut Rasmey, Secretary of State and Chairman of the Procurement Committee (PC) of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, led an inter-ministerial working group on Thursday, September 3, 2026, to inspect, evaluate, hand over, and finalize the validity of construction projects in Takeo and Koh Kong provinces. The working group, including representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, visited four irrigation construction sites: 1. Rehabilitation of Main Canal No. 90 and construction of hydraulic structures in Krapum Chhuk village, Koh Andet district, Takeo province (100% completed). 2. Rehabilitation of Main Canal Pong Muy and construction of hydraulic structures in Komarachea village, Bati district, Takeo province (100% completed). 3. Rehabilitation of Slak Keo Reservoir Drainage Canal and construction of hydraulic structures (Phase 1) in Kraing Lvea village, Bati district, and Khvav village, Samrong district, Takeo province (after the 12-month quality assurance period). 4. Repair of Chroy Pras Reservoir Dam II and construction of hydraulic structures (Phase 2) in Chroy Pras village, Koh Kong district, Koh Kong province (after the 12-month quality assurance period). H.E. Sut Rasmey praised the Directorate of Engineering for implementing the work in accordance with technical standards, serving irrigation, water drainage, and daily use. He also urged the relevant departments to continue cooperating with authorities, citizens, and farmer communities to jointly maintain these achievements sustainably.
