LPA Intensifies into Tropical Depression, May Strengthen into Typhoon, Approaching Philippines

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that a monitored low pressure area has developed into a tropical depression and may further intensify into a typhoon. It is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility over the weekend and be named Francisco, with storm signals potentially hoisted in some areas.
