PM Hun Manet to Preside Over Graduation Ceremony for 4,001 Law and Economics Graduates
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will preside over the graduation ceremony of the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) on August 6, awarding degrees to 4,001 graduates. The event will also mark the inauguration of new university facilities.
Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, will preside over the graduation ceremony for the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) on the morning of Thursday, August 6, 2026. The ceremony will award bachelor's and master's degrees to 4,001 graduating students. Additionally, a 6-story educational building, parking lot, and office building within the university campus will be inaugurated. The Royal University of Law and Economics has played a significant role in cultivating human resources in fields such as law, public administration, and economics, serving the economic and social development of Cambodia. From 1982 to the present, a total of 74,337 students have graduated (30,374 female, accounting for 40.85%), including 268 foreign students (121 female, accounting for 44.35%). These graduates are currently serving in ministries, state institutions, the private sector, and national and international non-governmental organizations, with some also running their own businesses with competence, dignity, and honor. Currently, the university has a total of 733 staff members, including board members, management, officials, personnel, and contracted national and international professors (194 female, accounting for 26.46%). It also has 20,016 students currently undergoing training (11,212 female, accounting for 56.01%). Among the students are 93 foreign students (59 female), including nationals from France (45, 32 female), Spain (1 female), Guatemala (1 male), Korea (1 female), China (6, all female), Vietnam (1 female), Haiti (1 female), and Laos (37, 18 female). The graduating students who will receive their degrees from the Prime Minister today number 4,001 in total (2,103 female, accounting for 52.56%). This includes 3,278 bachelor's degree students (1,813 female) and 723 master's degree students (290 female). To ensure quality and sustainable education, the university has implemented educational quality assurance mechanisms, particularly by strengthening its regular educational quality assessment system in accordance with educational quality assurance standards for higher education institutions. The university is also cooperating with 45 foreign universities through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to exchange experiences in studies, teaching, research, and training programs, aiming to further enhance educational quality. From 1993 to the present, the university has sent 1,993 students abroad for master's and doctoral studies through scholarships from partner universities. In the 2025-2026 academic year, 96 students (64 female) have been sent for further studies abroad, including 5 students (3 female) pursuing doctoral degrees in law in France, Australia, and the United States. Additionally, 14 students (11 female) are pursuing master's degrees in law and economics in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, New Zealand, and Australia. The university has also facilitated study exchange programs for 77 students (50 female) in countries such as France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, China, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
