A Cambodian parliamentary delegation has departed for China to participate in the '2026 Taiyuan Low-Carbon Energy Development Forum' in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. With the high approval of H.E. Khuon Sodary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the parliamentary delegation led by H.E. Loy Sophat, Chairman of the Commission for Planning, Investment, Agriculture, Rural Development, Environment, and Water Resources (Commission No. 3), departed from Phnom Penh on the night of September 2, 2026, heading to Taiyuan city, People's Republic of China. This visit is in response to the invitation extended by H.E. Dr. Zhang Jizhan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shanxi Provincial People's Congress. The presence of the high-level Cambodian parliamentary delegation at this event reflects the strong commitment to implementing Cambodia's '2026-2030 Environmental Diplomacy Strategy' and promoting low-carbon building projects and the transition towards clean energy on the international stage. At Techo International Airport, H.E. Wang Guangqing, Secretary-General of the General Chamber of Commerce Cambodia-Beijing, along with his colleagues, warmly saw off the delegation. The '2026 Taiyuan Low-Carbon Energy Development Forum' will be held from September 4 to 5, 2026, under the theme 'Dual Carbon Leads Energy Transformation, Innovation Accelerates Green Future.' The forum will be attended by government leaders, senior diplomats, representatives from the United Nations, and world-class technology companies such as Tesla and Siemens, with the United Kingdom selected as the guest of honor. The forum's agenda includes five international conferences and seven parallel forums, covering over ten specialized sectors ranging from traditional energy and green energy to smart grid systems and green finance.
