President Prabowo Subianto held a limited meeting (ratas) with several ministers and heads of agencies at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Monday (27/7) to discuss various strategic issues. Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) Brian Yuliarto arrived around 12:50 PM WIB. He stated that he was summoned by President Prabowo to discuss the progress of strategic programs, especially within universities. "I don't know yet, I'm called at one o'clock, we'll see. Of course, it's related to his strategic programs, because the President always emphasizes that universities must back up all strategic programs," Yuliarto said. He mentioned that he could not speak much about the details of the meeting as it had not yet taken place. However, Yuliarto confirmed that his ministry has prepared data on university programs that can support strategic initiatives. "I have prepared data on how our university programs are ready to provide backup in terms of studies and research, because the President wants every policy to be based on valid data," he explained. Regarding the establishment of the Republic of Indonesia University (URI), Yuliarto did not confirm it, stating, "No, no, I don't think so." Also present at the meeting were the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, who is also the CEO of Danantara, Rosan Roeslani, and the Head of BP BUMN, who is also COO, Dony Oskaria.
