NLEX Flooding Due to Blocked Dam Water Release, Says SMC President Ang

San Miguel Corp. (SMC) President Ramon Ang attributed the flooding along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) to soil and debris from the 2024 NLEX Tulaoc Bridge repair that obstructed the flow of water released from Pantabangan Dam. Speaking to Bulacan journalists on Tuesday, Ang said the debris had blocked the smooth release of water from the dam. The incident caused significant disruption to residents in areas along the NLEx, leading to traffic chaos. Flooding on roadways is a recurring issue in the Philippines, especially during the monsoon and typhoon seasons, often attributed to infrastructure deficiencies and management issues.
