Cambodia Intensifies Online Scam Crackdown to Enhance Investment Climate
Cambodia's Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has affirmed the government's firm measures to combat online scams during a meeting with the new CEO of SCA, aiming to restore international confidence and improve the investment environment.
Phnom Penh – On August 5, 2026, H.E. Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), met with Mr. Julien BERT, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Societe Concessionnaire de l’Aeroport (SCA). During this valuable meeting, H.E. Chea Vuthy informed the SCA CEO about the Royal Government of Cambodia's firm measures to combat online scams (Online Scam). These measures are contributing to restoring Cambodia's international confidence and reputation, strengthening the investment environment, and ensuring the safety of investors and tourists visiting Cambodia. Concurrently, he welcomed and congratulated Mr. Julien BERT on his appointment as the new CEO of SCA. He also highly appreciated the company's investment in Cambodia for over three decades, which has significantly contributed to the development of the aviation sector and the enhancement of Cambodia's tourism sector. Mr. Julien BERT provided an update on the development of the Sihanoukville International Airport and shared the company's direction for expanding investment into the logistics sector to support economic development and strengthen regional supply chain connectivity. Chea Vuthy expressed his support for the company's investment expansion plans and informed him about the Royal Government's continuous efforts in developing infrastructure and strengthening the logistics system, aiming to enhance competitiveness in attracting investment and promoting the development of the tourism sector.
