Ethnic Unity Party to strive for lasting peace

The Ethnic Unity Party will strive to achieve lasting peace across the country, said party Vice Chairman U Thein Tun. Vice Chairman U Thein Tun responded to media questions after the party's 38th anniversary ceremony held at the party headquarters in Yangon on September 24. Vice Chairman U Thein Tun stated that if peace is achieved, rule of law and stability will be attained, and socio-economic development is also included in the party's objectives. The party also said it is making more efforts to prevent generational gaps, gender imbalances, and skill disparities. In the letter submitted by party Chairman U Hsan Shwe at the 38th anniversary ceremony of the Ethnic Unity Party, he urged party organizations at all levels to work with the people for the continuous development and survival of the party, for nationwide peace, rule of law, socio-economic development, and the formation of a great union based on democracy and federalism. It is known that the Ethnic Unity Party has secured a total of 68 seats in the 2025 multi-party democracy general election.
