Magnitude 5.6 Earthquake Strikes Off Southeast Maluku, No Tsunami Threat

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck off Southeast Maluku in eastern Indonesia on May 2, 2026. The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) reported the quake originated at a depth of 114 km in the sea, with no potential for a tsunami.
