Cambodia's Ministry of Education to Announce High School Exam Candidate List

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia will announce the list of candidates for the high school graduation exam (Bak Doep) in the capital, provinces, and at examination centers on August 3, 2026. The exam is scheduled to take place on August 10 and 11. According to the ministry, the candidate list will be posted twice. The first posting on August 3, 2026, will display the names of candidates, and the second posting on August 9, 2026, will confirm desk and room numbers. This is because the ministry does not disseminate information on its official website. Prior to the exam, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, Hang Chuon Naron, encouraged all candidates to get adequate sleep and food, and to review their lessons to achieve good results. He also advised candidates not to view the high school graduation exam as a determinant of their destiny, acknowledging that exams naturally have both passers and failers. He emphasized that individuals differ, with some being strong students and others weaker, influenced by personal, family, and innate factors, but stressed the importance of continued learning. This year's high school graduation exam will have a total of 151,238 registered candidates. Of these, 37,445 candidates (over 24%) are for the science stream, and 113,793 candidates (over 75%) are for the social stream. The examination process will be organized across 244 centers, comprising 6207 rooms. The science stream will utilize 68 centers with 1533 rooms, while the social stream will use 176 centers with 4674 rooms.
