Kampong Thom Military Region Command Reviews Soldier Welfare and Productivity

The Kampong Thom Military Region Command (Military Region 4) held a meeting on the afternoon of July 10, 2026, at its headquarters to review the management and assurance of soldiers' livelihoods. The meeting was chaired by Major General Som Sun, Commander of the Military Region, and focused on ensuring the timely and complete provision of salaries and food according to the regulations set by the Ministry of National Defense, as well as efforts to improve productivity. Participants included the leadership of the Military Region Command, commanders of all units, and heads of relevant offices and institutions. The head of the finance department reported on the accurate and timely disbursement of salaries to soldiers and confirmed that food provided at unit mess halls met the prescribed standards. Commanders of various units also reported on their effective management of forces and the successful provision of livelihoods for their soldiers. Furthermore, the meeting highlighted efforts to enhance soldiers' living standards beyond the standard provisions, including participation in agricultural activities such as vegetable cultivation and animal husbandry. Some units also reported on their initiatives to support soldiers facing difficulties and foster mutual assistance within their ranks. Major General Som Sun commended the commanders and leadership for their dedication, unity, and successful fulfillment of assigned tasks. He emphasized the importance of consistently understanding the well-being and living conditions of soldiers under their command and acting with integrity to resolve their challenges.
