Vietnam National Assembly Reviews Foreign Affairs Work

On September 17, the National Assembly of Vietnam held a conference in Hanoi to share experiences in its foreign affairs work. The meeting was chaired by Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, a member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly. Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Defense and Security, also co-chaired the event. During the conference, it was stressed that the National Assembly's defense, security, and foreign affairs activities need to create many highlights in the new term. The contributions of parliamentary diplomacy to the nation's achievements over the past 80 years were also highlighted. The meeting serves to improve the quality of foreign affairs work at the parliamentary level as Vietnam continues to enhance its international standing and pursue economic growth. As a one-party state, Vietnam prioritizes economic development and utilizes diplomacy to secure international support and investment. Its foreign policy is characterized by a balancing act, particularly in its relationship with China, where it seeks to maintain economic ties while managing sensitive issues such as border disputes and the South China Sea.
