Residents in Takeo Province Urge Authorities to Repair Severely Damaged Road

Residents in Borey Cholsar Commune, Takeo Province, in southern Cambodia, have urgently appealed to provincial authorities and relevant departments for the repair of a severely damaged road that has been causing significant difficulties for years. On September 7, 2026, multiple households voiced their concerns about the deteriorating road conditions. According to the residents, the road's poor state has particularly hampered the transportation of agricultural products and made it difficult for children to travel to school, posing a long-standing challenge. They have respectfully requested the Governor of Takeo Province, Mr. Vey Samnang, and the Department of Rural Development to investigate and resolve this issue. The residents also suggested that even if sufficient funds for asphalt or concrete paving are not immediately available, authorities should consider temporary repairs such as clearing and compacting the road. This measure, they believe, would alleviate travel hardships and enhance safety. There is a strong hope among the residents that their plea will receive serious attention and prompt, appropriate solutions from the local authorities and specialized departments, enabling better use of the road.
