Airstrike Kills Three Family Members in Western Myanmar's Sagaing Region

A Myanmar military regime airstrike killed three family members and injured four others in Sagaing Region’s Pale Township on Sept. 15, despite no active ground fighting in the area, according to residents and monitoring groups. Two junta gyrocopters deployed from the Northwestern Military Command dropped bombs twice on Kan Bauk (East) village, located about five miles from Pale town, at around noon. The victims—a mother, her son, and her daughter-in-law—were killed during one of the two bombing runs. Local sources confirmed that all three were cremated Wednesday evening. Junta troops remain stationed at the police station and administrative offices in Pale town and in surrounding villages. The ongoing regime presence and frequent aerial bombardments have forced roughly 3,000 residents into long-term displacement.
