Tropical Depression Forms in Tonkin Gulf, Gale Force Winds and Rough Seas Expected

A tropical depression has formed in the Tonkin Gulf, bringing strong winds and rough seas. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the low-pressure area over the Tonkin Gulf intensified into a tropical depression on the morning of August 7. Currently, the Tonkin Gulf is experiencing strong winds of level 6, with gusts up to level 8, and waves reaching 2-3 meters, resulting in rough sea conditions. The weather forecast for August 7 indicates that heavy rainfall is expected to continue in the northern and north-central regions. Meanwhile, rain is anticipated to concentrate in the afternoon and evening in the Central Highlands and southern regions. In response, Thanh Hoa province is proactively implementing preventive measures against rain and storms. The Ministry of Construction has also urgently ordered the implementation of response plans for heavy rain, flash floods, and landslides. The formation of a tropical depression in the Tonkin Gulf, located off the coast of northern Vietnam, could impact coastal areas and maritime transport. Vietnam has seen an increase in damage from extreme weather events in recent years, and meteorological authorities are urging the public to pay attention to the latest weather information and take appropriate precautions.
