Myanmar-Laos sign MoUs

Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) including the establishment of sister cities between Naypyidaw, the capital of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and Vientiane, the capital of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, were signed and exchanged by responsible officials from respective sectors of both countries on the morning of July 3, in the presence of the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Min Aung Hlaing, and the President of Laos, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith. Following the welcome and discussions by the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, with the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a state visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, these MoUs were signed and exchanged. Additionally, an MoU on tourism cooperation was signed and exchanged between the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. Furthermore, it was learned that an MoU on space technology cooperation between Laos and Myanmar was also agreed upon and signed. Following this, Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi from the President's Office of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar presented 640 doses of Myanmar-made antivenom, donated by the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, which was received by an official from the government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. It was also learned that after the signing ceremony, the two presidents warmly greeted the officials from both countries who were in attendance.
